Welcome to our sabbatical homes Website!
We are Tony and Anne. We've completed several short (more than 1 month) and long stay (1 year) sabbaticals.
While on sabbatical we've rented our home to other families on sabbatical, rented a sabbatical home for our own use, rented holiday homes, swapped
homes, and performed house sitting duties.
In 2005, we gave up our professional careers (and the stress and long hours associated with our professions)
to lead a more nomadic life. As avid travelers wanting to experience local life, we (and our two children) are often
alternating lives between North America and Europe.
After a year in Provence, France we're currently back in Montreal, Canada. Of course, Sabbatix.com travels with us!
We started Sabbatix.com because we wanted to help the academic community, individuals, and families go on sabbatical
without spending a lot of time and money worrying about housing. Because our members view one another as
caretakers rather than paying clients, rental fees on Sabbatix.com are often lower than market rates.
Sabbatix.com lists homes to rent, home exchange, or house-sit across the globe.
Many of the homes are centrally located in great city neighbourhoods while others are located in secluded areas—ideal
for writing retreats.
Sabbatix.com works like a classified ad specifically targeted at the academic community, artists and writers, and professionals who
enjoy traveling and staying in private homes.
However unlike other classified Websites, we do not charge any fees. It is free to list a home and contact a home owner regarding their listing.
We continue to improve and expand the reach of Sabbatix.com with the aim of becoming the premier site for sabbatical homes for rent, exchange, and house sit.
